The FP language was invented by John Backus and is devoid of variables and hence "side effects".
It is thus well suited for parallel operations.
The interactive, online JAVA implementation at this site is rather complete and pretty much sticks to the original language specifications. It was implemented by Bandaru Srinivas, Dasari Srikanth, and Taduri Hemanth as a project for CSCE 790D in April, 2001. John Backus, one of a small number of true pioneers, died on March 17 2007. |
