A poem for Teddy Teddy arrived as a small pup. But in no time she had grown up. In youth you'd throw a stick to chase. She'd rather run a circular race. And later, trying to teach to sit. steadfastly she refused this trick. Polite tho, for when she would bark with just a single quiet hark "to do my business I must embark." And when she wanted to return another bark, and with a grin "don't leave me here alone I beg. It's time for me to come back in." She'd growl when paid attention to. An effort it was to talk to you. Never in anger, but just to say "come here, for I just want to play." and if she felt like cleaning house she'd search from door to door to find a sock somewhere and place it on the kitchen floor But such we grew accustomed to; we didn't appreciate. And so we really miss our friend, but now it is too late.
